Дисертаційна робота присвячена дослідженню біоекологічних особливостей, репродуктивної здатності інтродукованого виду Pseudotsuga menziesii та її різновиду P. menziesii var. glauca. Проаналізовано досвід інтродукції та визначено сучасний таксономічний склад роду Pseudotsuga на території Лівобережного Лісостепу України. Встановлено біоекологічні особливості рослин північноамериканського виду Pseudotsuga menziesii та її різновиду P. menziesii var. glauca в умовах інтродукції, а саме: їх зимостійкість та посухостійкість, стійкість до шкідників та хвороб; вперше визначено вплив освітлення на ріст сіянців. Опрацьовано методи насіннєвого та вегетативного розмноження і вирощування досліджуваних рослин. Визначено життєвий стан рослин інтродуцента в Лівобережному Лісостепу, їх декоративні якості, а також композиційні властивості у зв'язку з використанням у зеленому будівництві. Запропоновано заміну загиблих ялинових насаджень дендропарку «Тростянець» досліджуваним видом. Почато збір колекції культиварів P. menziesii на території дендрологічного парку «Тростянець» НАНУ.^UThe thesis is dedicated to the study of bioecological peculiarities, reproductive ability of the alien species Pseudotsuga menziesii and its variety P.menziesii var glauca.The experience of introduction has been analyzed and the modern taxonomic structure of the species Pseudotsuga in the forest and steppe regions of the Left Bank of Ukraine has been cleared. The general condition of plants at the places of study has been determined. The bioecological peculierities of the North American species Pseudotsuga menziesii and its variety P. enziesii var glauca in the conditions of introduction have been cleared. Namely, the seasonal rhythm of development has been studied, the reproductive ability has been investigated, the relation to the influence of low negative temperatures (winterhardinens) and the influence of high positive temperatures (drought-resistance) have been determined. The influence of lighting over the growth and development of the species has been defined for the first time. The resistance against vermins and diseases in the area of introduction has been examined. The methods of reproduction and growing of the studied plants have been worked up. According to the results of the research, the decorative qualities, as well as the compositional characteristics in connection with the use of the introducer in green building have been defined. It is proposed to replace the fallen spruce plantations of the arboretum Trostyanets with the investigated species. The collection of the varieties of P. menziesii on the territory of the arboretum Trostyanets of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has been started.
