Rapid identification of the infective diseases' agents is of great importance for implementation of disease treatment measures. The goal of the study was to elaborate the model of Phage Titer Growth Reaction in order to indicate the anthrax agent in the soil. Investigations of 100 thousand and more apores of soil were made. Further prolongation of incubation up to 7 h revealed 10 thousand and more spores, while after 18 h exposition, several tens of spores in one gram of the soil were found. Presence of vulgar microflora in the soil with ratio 10:1, 1:1, and 1:10 did not affect the sensitivity of reaction. The Phage Titer Growth Reaction indicated to the agent within 18 - 36 h. In case of bacteriological method the infecting agent in the soil was revealed in 3 - 5 days.

For the purpose to determine the effectiveness of vaccination with anthrax STI vaccine of horses some indices of blood like: content of overall proteins in blood serum; phagocytic activity of leukocytes, lyzocyme activity of the blood serum were studied. The level of the anti-anthrax antibodies, synthesized in organism of the vaccinated animals was investigated by the reaction of passive hem agglutination. In experimental animals (3 horses), considering the deviations determines, following indices have been found to be increased: intensity of leukocyte phagocytosis (control - 0,15 - 0,2; after immunization - 0,56 - 1,24); lyzocyme activity; level of overall protein in the blood serum. The titers of the anti-anthrax antibodies, developed in the horse organism (1:80 - 1:160) exceeded the indices of the same antibodies 4 - 8 times, before vaccination (1:10 - 1:20). Elevated number of leukocytes, erythrocytes thrombocytes, and level of hemoglobin were found in the vaccinated animals. Intensive increase of the hematological indices and development of the specific anti-anthrax antibodies determine the immunity of an organism using the STI vaccine.

The bacteriophage treatment of 118 patients suffering from chronic bacterial prostatitis who were qualified for an experimental phage therapy protocol managed and carried out at the General Microbiology Lab at G. Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology and at the Urology Department at Central Clinical Hospital in Tbilisi. All patients had previously been treated unsucessfully in the same department with targeted antibiotics and anti-inflamatory medications. Together, phage application(orally and by suppositories) with antibiotic therapy against mixed bacterial infections isolated from chronic prostatitis, cystitis (acute and chronic urethritis), along with sperm samples the prostate fluid gave optimistic results regarding bacterial elimination and showed significant improvement of all clinical symptoms of prostatitis. These results were recorded during 12 months.

The work includes datas that work out accelerated agglutination reaction for diagnosing Brucellosis in cattles and on its test laboratory. The experiment provided detecting 536 livestock, 78 - sheep and 10 - goat blood sera. For diagnostic it was used brucellosis corpuscular coloured antigen. At the same time we detected sera with the Rose - Bengal titre and with the competitor enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The result of accelerated agglutination reactions we were calculating 4 - 5 minutes from the moment of setting up experiment. The tests determined that positively reaction on brucellosis was blood-sera of live-stock 51, sheep - 3 and the goat - one. The titre of diagnostic agglutinins consists of 1:100 - 1:400. Received results are the same with the titre of Rose - Bengal and with the datas of ELISA. Received results reveals pespectivness of accelerated agglutination reaction for Brucellosis to use in veterinary practice.
