Анотація: For many years, Bruno Spoerri has been a member of both the SUISA council, and the council of the SUISA Foundation for Music. He has defended every musical domain with great interest, but his first love has always been jazz.
Bruno Spoerri’s book «Jazz in der Schweiz – Geschichte und Geschichten» has just been published by Chronos Editions. This new work provides a rich panorama of jazz in Switzerland from its origins up to the present day. More than just a history book, this work is a veritable encyclopaedia, and comes with a CD Rom full of discographic, biographic and bibliographic repertoires on the subject of Swiss jazz music, as well as information on the participants in the Zurich festival between 1951 and 1973, and in the Jazz rock Pop Festival at Augst between 1973 and 1986. Even if swissdisc.ch is normally only concerned with recent discography, it would be unthinkable not to mention a publication of this importance, which in our opinion represents a milestone for the jazz scene in Switzerland. We highly recommend this book, which for the moment, unfortunately, is only available in German. (Claude Delley/T. Ann Robert)
