There was described the task of forming the Hydrologic bulletin, which is issued every day by Vinnytsia regional center for hydrometeorology. There were determined the difficulties which appear while composing the bulletin in a traditional way, and the way to overcome these difficulties with the help of geographic information technologies. There was reasoned the choice of GIS "Panorama 7" as the optimal software package according to the number of criteria. To solve the set task, there was developed the "Hydromet" geographic information system for the automated composing the Hydrologic bulletin. There was described the structure of the data base system, algorithm of the monitoring data processing, the way of the dynamic updating of the results on the map and composing the printable view of the bulletin. The developed system integrates with the state system of monitoring the environment in Vinnytsia region.
