Hybrid processes are perspective ones for technological applications as long as they allow one to greatly decrease the power level (and so the cost) of a laser equipment. The workable quality of welds at the welding under the joint action of CO2-laser radiation and the arc with a melted electrode approaches to the laser quality for steels and to the arc quality for aluminum alloys. At the welding of steels, the application of the hybrid process allows one to increase the welding velocity by 20 - 30 % in comparison with the laser welding without additive. For aluminum alloys, such an increase makes up 4 - 6 times. Laser-arc welding is appropriately carried out in a common pool with the minimal distance between thermal sources and the minimal slope angle of the electrode with respect to the laser radiation axis. The better results take place in the case where the focused laser radiation is located in advance of the welding spot.
