The monograph is divided into four chapters, each chapter presented in logical chronological order to allow proper understanding of the presented topics. It focuses on the issue of drug addictions, that affects all areas of human life, moreover it analyses the consumption and treatment of drug addicted people, where the indicator of average annual percentage change is used. Further it deals with the tasks of a social worker and the position in the after treatment process together with the tasks of the third sector, aimed at filling the gap between the market requirements and the state offer. The monograph can be also used by social workers in practice as the content and scope of the monograph is prepared to provide basic knowledge on drug addictions, general drug issues to the extent necessary for college students and furthert successful mastering of the topic. The monograph presents findings and provides sufficient knowledge base on the drug problems for researchers, project designers and people in health and social care management. Most of the mentioned issues are characterized by high dynamics, permanent development, so the self-study is highly recommend to supplement and widen the gained knowledge for the latest findings in the area.
