In § 2.1. “Electronic information resources of scientific libraries in the knowledge infrastructure of the digital society” (Nataliia Samokhina, Inna Pelukhovska), authors analyzed that the modern digital environment is causing a profound transformation of library and information processes, in which electronic resources play a key role. Their systematization, structured presentation, and integration into the global knowledge infrastructure provide broader access to scientific information and increase the effectiveness of communication between researchers. Such resources become not only a repository of documents, but also an important element of the intellectual ecosystem that supports the creation, dissemination, and reuse of knowledge. As a result, a qualitatively new level of service is formed, focused on the speed, convenience, and reliability of information. In § 2.2. “Integration of scientific periodicals into the global scientometric space” (Nataliia Samokhina, Liliia Kudimenko) describe the process of involving scientific publications in international evaluation and indexing systems, which contributes to their visibility, increases the prestige of scientific results, and strengthens the position of national science in the global information space. The integration process requires compliance with clear criteria for quality, transparency, and ethics in publications, which encourages editorial offices to improve their editorial policies. As a result, a competitive environment is formed where scientific journals become equal participants in global scientific communication, and researchers gain broader opportunities to exchange knowledge and increase the citation rate of their works. In § 2.3. “Scientific academic publications in a centralized open publication system” (Nataliia Samokhina, Inna Peliukhovska) argue that the introduction of centralized platforms for open scientific publications ensures the systematicity, accessibility, and long-term preservation of academic results. Such systems contribute to the establishment of uniform standards for metadata, author identification, and transparency of the scientific process. They support an open model of knowledge dissemination, reduce barriers for researchers, and enhance the reputational potential of scientific institutions. This creates a coherent information space where each study gains greater visibility and can be integrated into international scientific processes. Section § 2.4. “The VNLU Repository as an Innovative Component of Modern Digital Scientific Communication” (Nataliia Samokhina, Oleksandr Martyniuk) concludes the creation of a modern digital platform for storing and disseminating scientific materials has a significant impact on the development of scientific communication, ensuring its openness and dynamism. Such a platform allows research results to be presented in a structured form, facilitates the search and citation of materials, and supports long-term archiving. Innovative integration capabilities, including interaction with international identification systems, enhance the value of the resource and promote the expansion of scientific cooperation. This makes digital infrastructure an important component of national scientific development. In § 2.5. “Working with authoritative data as a means of improving the search service of a scientific library” (Olha Isaieva, Maryna Dorosh, Tetiana Vlasova) describes the use of standardized and reliable data on names, organizations, and subject headings significantly improves the quality of library search services. Such data ensures unambiguous identification, minimizes information errors, and facilitates navigation in complex knowledge arrays. The processing of authoritative records contributes to the integration of library resources into global information networks, increases the accuracy of thematic searches, and optimizes the use of electronic catalogs. This creates a more efficient environment for researchers who need fast and accurate access to scientific information. In § 2.6. “Organizing thematic searches according to library hierarchy: the experience of national libraries around the world” (Svitlana Halytska) examines the use of hierarchical models of knowledge organization in leading libraries around the world, demonstrating the effectiveness of thematic searches based on a logical structure of concepts. This approach makes it easier for users to navigate complex information arrays and facilitates more accurate selection of sources in accordance with research needs. The implementation of such systems in libraries ensures consistency of terminology, interoperability of catalogs, and improved search services. This allows for higher quality information services and the integration of national resources into the international context.
