The aim of writing this marketing manual is to promote the use of the Information Literacy IFLA – UNESCO logo (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The logo was selected from an international competition with the objective of creating an image that would strengthen communication between participants in Information Literacy (IL) programs: those who fund them, the institutions and organizations; those who facilitate the programs, the trainers; and those who benefit from developing information competencies, the learners. The adoption and use of the logo by information literacy professionals will make it an easily recognizable symbol for IL across countries, and will therefore, make IL communication easier.

Scheme - a simple, learnable dialect of LISP has emerged as a popular educational language as well as a serious tool for producing applications and system software. The people who have been asked to contribute to this little manual on restorative justice have all been involved for many years in the restorative justice movement in Canada and abroad. The little manual wants to put into your hands a basic training tool. The themes addressed in the various modules are themes that the writers\practitioners have found useful in seeking to educate communities about restorative justice and engage citizens in a deeper reflection about the criminal justice system. Some of the modules are brief and seek only to draw attention to a few key elements and leave you with questions for discussion. Some others are lengthier and seek to provide you with food for thought. Depending on the length of the educational sessions, all of the modules may not be covered. It is estimated that proper coverage of all modules, allowing time for significant input from participants, would take at least three full days. Ideally, we recommend spreading it over a week. The modules could also be presented on a weekly basis depending on the availability of the audience. If the manual leads you to reflect more deeply with others on the potential and complexity of restorative justice and to want to learn more about how it can provide a meaningful way of transforming justice, it would have fulfilled its goal.

This publication is a human rights teaching manual for teachers and resource persons who are proficient in the craft and profession of policing as practitioners, or learned in that field as educators or academics. It is also a reference manual for police officials participating in programmes based on the manual, and a continuing source of reference for them when they have completed a programme. The teaching manual has been prepared for use as a valuable resource in an educational process which should enable and require police officials to consider how they are to carry out their functions in an effective, lawful and humane manner.

The Kanazawa Institute of Technology is Japan's largest institution of higher education specializing in engineering and technology. It is a world leader and collaborator in electronic initiatives, often on the forefront of systems design and telecommunications advancement. It is also the site of an annual symposium series on digital library development.
