The analytical paper deals with the social ideal as a sociocultural phenomenon, the specifics of the formation of the social ideal under the conditions of the globalizing world and the information society which produces new ways of influencing human consciousness. The specifics of social institutions' functioning as subjects of the formation and approval of the social ideal are noted. The study demonstrated the role of scientific and communication structures and memory institutions in the formation of information and a source base of national identity, providing the development of the sociocultural environment with essential information for the formation of the modern vision of the social ideal. The mass media's role and responsibilities in propaganda and influencing the public understanding of the national social ideal components are investigated. It mentions the development of the information factor and the separation from the global information field of significant national socio-humanitarian digital resources and projects that would be a reference point and sources for Ukrainian society, Ukrainian digital projects and have a significant impact on processes of national identification and self-identification in the context of attributes: state, history, territory, language, personalities, culture.
