The collective monograph of the Institute of Biographical Research of V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine contains an analysis of the current state, the problem-thematic range, achievements and unresolved problems of the development of historical and biographical studies, publishing and information activities in the field of domestic biography reseaches as well as the tasks and prospects for their further improvement.

The methodological recommendations stated in the monograph are addressed to ministries and administrations, academic and educational institutions, libraries, museums, publishing houses, editorial boards of journals, mass media, information centers, and public organizations working in the field of historical and biographical research, integration and distribution of cultural information and historical and biographical knowledge.
