The collection contains the materials of the international scientific conference "Library. Science. Communication. Current issues of preservation and innovative development of scientific libraries", organized by the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine (October 3–5, 2023), in which important aspects of the development of library and information potential, modern problems of the functioning of scientific libraries and ways to overcome them are highlighted , the results of scientific research and proposals for optimizing activities in the field of library, information and archival affairs are presented. Ukrainian and foreign specialists revealed the theoretical and applied aspects of the formation, use, organization of access to electronic information resources of the scientific library in the web environment and optimization of library and information activities for the production of new knowledge and provision of information needs of society. Current issues regarding the modern priorities of the organization and management of the library and information complex were considered; development of digital resources and services of scientific libraries; scientific and informational resources of scientific libraries in the system of socio-legal communications; preservation of library and archival funds, which constitute the cultural heritage of Ukraine; Ukrainian bibliographic periodicals (for the 100th anniversary of the magazine "Bibliological News"); modern trends in the formation, preservation, research of manuscript funds; Ukrainian biography in the context of scientific and cultural ties between the countries and peoples of Central-Eastern Europe; archives and science (potential, innovations, professional competences); of musical culture and musical funds of libraries and archives (to the 100th anniversary of the magazine "Music"); press in the context of librarianship, bibliography and source studies; figures of journalist Gareth Jones in researching the history of the Holodomor in Ukraine; ancient Ukrainian book publishing (to the 450th anniversary of the founding of the first Ukrainian printing house by Ivan Fedorovych in L’viv); Ukrainian and foreign experience of the presidency institute in times of crisis; Jewish books in libraries, archives and museums of Ukraine.

The publication is addressed to employees of the library and information industry, specialists in the document and communication field, teachers, graduate students and students of higher education institutions.
